I met Michael Olschimke during my study in the university of Hannover where he taught Data Vault. That was the first time I heard of it and was very skeptical, but later recognized the value behind the whole concept. At the same time as I was writing my bachelor thesis (about Data Vault) he founded Scalefree and asked me to join. So, learning from a mentor/author/lecturer/nerd and being part of a start-up with a young and motivated team directly after study? Who had said no? I also worked for bigger companies before and during my study time. I liked all of my working places, but wanted to be part of a company where my work, as a Business Intelligence Consultant, has more direct impact of success or failure.
